UdG Racing Division

Since the University of Girona we have always felt a strong attraction to the world of

motorsports. This is such that we, the students, could not resist taking part in the most

exciting university-level competition. Formula Student offers us a space to make the most of

our knowledge as students with the aim of designing and building a single-seater race car

with everything that entails.

With the determination to take our talent to the highest level, we founded UdG Racing

Division, a project that combines innovation, engineering and passion for competition,

which had been inactive since 2017. UdG Racing Division is a non-profit association made up

entirely of students from the various degree programs at the University of Girona. Our

objective goes beyond simply creating a car. We want to establish ourselves as a

competitive team and root ourselves within the university community in order to

consolidate the continuity of this project. We want future generations of students to be

proud of everything we achieve.

At present, we have the full support of the University of Girona and its faculty, with Martí

Comamala as our advising professor. Likewise, we have the support of UdG alumni, both

former team members and professionals such as Xevi Pujolar, who reached the pinnacle

of motorsport competition—the Formula 1 World Championship—becoming Trackside

Operations Director for the Sauber Motorsport AG team.

The objectives established by the team include:

- Designing and constructing a competitive single-seater adapted to the regulations

set for the Formula Student competition.

- Participating in Formula Student Spain in 2026 at the Circuit de Barcelona-

Catalunya (Montmeló), with the possibility of also taking part in FS Portugal and FS East

during the 2026 season.

- Establishing UdG Racing Division as a competitive team and a pillar of the

university community to consolidate the project’s continuity.

- Promoting the development of technical skills among UdG students participating

in the project, across engineering as well as finance, marketing, human resources, law,

languages, and other fields.
